Where is the best solo base location in Ark survival ascended? ›

The Redwood Pond is one of the best base locations on The Island, with plenty of pros and only a handful of cons. Players that build here will have access to drinkable water, as well as plenty of space to build large bases.

You start with a square foundation, then do the inner spiral of triangles off it, then build the circle outwards from there. Then take two square foundations where those triangle ones are and then fill in the gaps with more triangle foundations.

To construct a basic shelter, you'll need the Thatch Foundation, Thatch Wall, and Thatch Ceiling, plus the Thatch Doorframe and Thatch Door if you want to be able to completely enclose and secure your dwelling.

The fastest land mount in ARK: Survival Ascended is the Gallimimus, which can travel across the ground at breakneck speeds.

A Wooden Triangle Foundation can be placed on even or slightly uneven ground. Once the first Wooden Triangle Foundation is placed, subsequent Wooden Triangle Foundations can snap into place along the first one, allowing them to line up, provided that there is adequate room and ground to do so.

Add a wall to the side of the ceiling where you want the foundation to snap later on. Place two ceilings outward from the wall you just placed. Place a pillar under the outermost ceiling. The foundation will now snap to the area around the pillar.

Build a rectangular frame from logs, then fill it with dead leaves, moss, and debris to insulate the ground. Make an A-frame shelter and pile on leaves, sticks, and branches over the entire frame to protect you from the elements.

What is the best place for single player ARK? ›

If you take the time to clear it out and gate up the exits, Hidden lake is a really good spot. I kept resetting my game, not able to find the perfect spot. Tried herbivore island, it ended up being too far away. Tried tree platforms but found it annoying to work with my Dinos.

The Hidden Lake is located in the region Smugglers Pass. There are lots of trees and rocks for resources and is hidden by the thick surrounding forest. To the north is a small peninsula with scattered trees, and across the ocean to the east is The Dead Island.

There is a configuration option "Use Singleplayer Settings" in the General tab of the Host/Local dialog. When activated some settings (e.g. difficulty) are optimized for single players and small groups (non-dedicated sessions).
