Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.

Punk Addresses McIntyre's Troll T-Shirt

CM Punk is currently out of action with a torn triceps that will cost him the opportunity to wrestle at WrestleMania 40, but he made an appearance Monday night after Raw went off the air.

While speaking to the live crowd, Punk addressed the Drew McIntyre T-shirt poking fun at his injury that was recently released by WWE, according to Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News: "I do encourage you to all go buy Drew's shirt. I get higher percentage points on it than he does, so it's money in my pocket."

The McIntyre shirt in question features a jubilant McIntyre kneeling down and pointing at a gravestone, and on the gravestone it reads "CM Punk's WrestleMania Main Event 2024-2024."

Upon making his shocking return to WWE in November, Punk made it clear that his main goal was to do something he was unable to accomplish during his previous WWE tenure, and that is to headline WrestleMania.

Punk got down to the final two competitors remaining in the men's Royal Rumble match before getting eliminated by Cody Rhodes, but it still seemed likely that he would headline Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 with world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins.

However, Punk announced on the Raw after Royal Rumble that he tore his triceps in the Rumble and would be out of action for several months.

McIntyre interrupted Punk's heartfelt promo and said he "prayed" for Punk to get injured. Punk vowed to get revenge on McIntyre once he got healthy, which prompted The Scottish Warrior to attack him and further injure his arm.

If McIntyre can win the six-man Elimination Chamber match at the Elimination Chamber premium live event on Saturday, he will essentially take Punk's place as Rollins' WrestleMania opponent, and it could happen in the main event of Night 1.

While Punk is undoubtedly highly disappointed to be out for WrestleMania, McIntyre's trolling is at least benefiting him monetarily.

WWE Reportedly Playing Waiting Game with Omos' Booking

Omos has been used sparingly on WWE programming since losing to Brock Lesnar last year at WrestleMania 39, and that is apparently by design.

According to Aaron Varble of SEScoops, a source said WWE is "holding Omos for the right program for either him or an opponent who could use a big win."

Billed at 7'3" and 416 pounds, The Nigerian Giant is a sight to behold, and he is one of the rare present-day wrestlers who perhaps works best as a special attraction that is only featured from time to time on television.

That is the type of role Andre the Giant filled for much of his Hall of Fame career, and while Omos is nowhere near that level yet, he can perhaps be the current version.

Since his WrestleMania 39 loss to Lesnar, Omos has mostly been relegated to live events, and he has rarely appeared on premium live events or weekly TV shows.

He lost to Seth Rollins at Backlash in May, competed in a battle royal at SummerSlam and was an entrant in the 2024 men's Royal Rumble match last month.

In terms of wrestling on Raw or SmackDown, that hasn't happened for Omos since the May 1, 2023, episode of Raw.

The beauty of Omos is that he is such a spectacle that he doesn't have to be on TV regularly in order to capture the fans' attention when he does show up.

Even without consistent television exposure, Omos' size gives him a credibility, and a win over him is significant for anyone who pulls off the feat.

Omos isn't currently trending toward being involved in a big match at WrestleMania 40, but if WWE wants to get someone over on the Grandest Stage of Them All, pairing them with Omos wouldn't be a bad idea.

Alexander Reportedly Tied to TNA Until February 2025

Two-time Impact world champion Josh Alexander will reportedly be tied to TNA for at least the next year.

TNA Wrestling posted Tuesday on X that it had exercised its option to extend Alexander's contract with the company:

TNA Wrestling @ThisIsTNA

BREAKING: TNA Wrestling Exercises Its Option to Extend Contract of <a href="https://twitter.com/Walking_Weapon?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Walking_Weapon</a>, as first reported by <a href="https://twitter.com/SInow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SInow</a>! <br><br>FULL DETAILS: <a href="https://t.co/7qySBNcGuZ">https://t.co/7qySBNcGuZ</a> <a href="https://t.co/YpdwxwBytz">pic.twitter.com/YpdwxwBytz</a>

Per Fightful Select (h/t Shubham Banerjee of Ringside News), Alexander's TNA contract had been set to expire on Feb. 14, 2023, but since TNA exercised its option, he is now under contract until Feb. 14, 2024.

Alexander reportedly signed a two-year contract with a one-year option, and given that Alexander is one of TNA's top stars, the decision was made to keep him in the fold.

The 36-year-old veteran from Canada is widely regarded as one of the best in-ring workers in the world, and he is among the most decorated TNA stars of all time.

In addition to being a two-time world champion, Alexander is a two-time Impact world tag team champion and a one-time X-Division champion.

Had Alexander hit free agency, it is likely he would have received interest from many of the other to promotions in wrestling, including WWE, AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

For now, Alexander remains contracted to TNA, and it is likely that he will continue to be pushed as a top star.
